Women Entrepreneurship Conference 2018

On Friday, October 19, 2018, women leaders will converge at North Central College (Wentz Science Center, 131 S. Loomis St, Naperville, IL) to help advance female and minority entrepreneurship in the West Suburbs. Hosted by ConVerge Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and sponsored by Naperville Bank & Trust, the Women Entrepreneurship Conference 2018 brings together entrepreneurial women, from high school students with a business idea to seasoned professionals in various industries.

Designed by women for women, the conference focuses on the theme, Speak Up: The Power of the Woman’s Voice in the World of Business. The opening panel discussion at 12:30pm will feature thought leaders and their success stories: Nicki Anderson (Naperville Chamber of Commerce), Terrie Simmons (Women’s Business Development Center), Jean LaVallie, (WESOS Network - Women Entrepreneurs Secrets of Success), and Pamela Sharar-Stoppel, (Naperville Bank & Trust).

Attendees can choose from 10 presentations and workshops led by seven experts, all designed to further strengthen girls’ and women’s voices on various levels:

  • building confidence in starting and growing your business
  • public speaking skills, including presentation and vocal coaching
  • understanding how you can advocate for your business via legal systems
  • communicating your brand effectively via social media and marketing strategies, and
  • encouraging diverse voices in any workplace

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and optional professional digital headshots, will begin at 5pm.

This year marks North Central College’s inaugural participation in the worldwide movement, Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW), founded by Montclair University. WEW is an annual event that celebrates female entrepreneurship during a designated week in October. To date, more than 100 colleges and universities in six continents have joined the global movement.

Registration is free for students (high school and college), and $25 for professionals. Registration includes box lunch, admission to all sessions, cocktail and hors d’oeuvres, and optional professional digital head shots.
