Naperville Heritage Society receives Proclamation from City for 50th Anniversary

The Naperville Heritage Society celebrated its fiftieth anniversary during Naperville’s City Council meeting, receiving a special proclamation declaring February 19 as Naperville Heritage Society Day in the City of Naperville. The Society serves as the administrators for the City’s museum, Naper Settlement.

Over the past fifty years, the Naperville Heritage Society has built Naper Settlement as an institution of lifelong learning, a community gathering place, and a strong economic engine for the City. The nationally accredited outdoor history museum boasts 365,000 annual visitors, including 31,000 school program participants, features twenty-three historical structures dating back as early as the 1830s, and houses an 80,000 piece collection. Naper Settlement hosts exhibits, special events, and educational programming year round for the community.

Attendees were invited to a reception of birthday cake and coffee after the meeting.
